The History

— How it all began

Nigerian Art Music Project is committed to the reawakening and Promotion of Nigerian Art Songs.

We curate, record, and broadcast scores written by Nigerian composers in Nigerian languages, whilst also creating a compendium of Nigerian Art scores for easy accessibility the world over.

The Project also believes that Nigerian Art Music should be spread in our institutions of learning especially at the Primary and Secondary levels to build a sort of affinity to Nigerian languages and culture.

Nkiruka Andrew

— Profile

Nkiruka Andrew a lyrical soprano hails from Delta State. She started singing at the Christ Apostolic Church E/B Lagos under the tutelage of Late Pastor Ayo Adeusi & Elder Bidemi Oyesanya(SAN) respectively. Her speaking ecstatic expression gave her the stage name ” Nkysmiles”.
Nkiruka has performed at many occasions and concert gatherings, a member of the Laz Ekwueme chorale, the Muson festival choir & the Livingspring chorale.
She has performed different genres of music ranging from Contemporary, Blues, Jazz and a wide range of Classical works of great composers like Handel, Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Meyerbeer and many others. Her unbeatable performance at the audition qualified her for the second MTN Foundation  scholarship award at the Muson Diploma School of Music.
She has passed the Muson graded examinations and ABRSM with distinction and currently holds an Associate diploma of music from Muson along with a degree in Philosophy from the prestigious University of Lagos. Presently has an Album to her credit  titled ” Yea & Amen”. She is ready to take the world by a storm as she aspires to be a great performer and a music consultant.

Korede Omopeloye

Korede Omopeloye is a trained Pianist, Church Organist and also a trained Music Educator. 

As an Organist and Choirmaster(1997-2014),he has served at Archbishop Vining Cathedral GRA Ikeja, Bola Memorial Anglican church Ikeja, All souls Chapel O.A.U Ife, St Peters Anglican Church Isona Ilesha, Divine Mercy Catholic Church Lekki and Victoria Fellowship Church Still waters estate.

As a Piano instructor he has been teaching Piano and prepares students for ABRSM examination at Muson school of Music Onikan from 2002 till date.

Presently he also teaches tAfrican music in Diaspora as a course at Muson Diploma school of Music, Onikan.

As a music teacher he has taught music at Atlantic Hall School Epe as the Master tutor step 2 and head of unit where he taught WAEC and GCSE (CIE uk) curriculum.

At the moment he is the Head of Music at CIS (Children’s International School Lekki ) where he taught music to the KS2 student as a specialist teacher which also involved teaching the Guitar and Clarinet,later,he moved to the Senior school where he now teaches the whole secondary school and prepares students for GCSE(EDEXCEL) exams. Under his leadership the school won several AISEN music competitions coming back with gold awards in all the categories entered for,this includes Ensemble performances ,solo performances and Choral performances.

Chinedum Nathan Osinigwe hails from Umu-eze community in Nzagha-Ukpor, Nnew-South L.G.A of Anambra state. He attended St. Thomas Acquinos Pry School and Aturanse Boys’ Secondary School, both in Surulere, for his primary (80s) and secondary education (millennium) respectively. He started his tertiary education by obtaining an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Business Management from Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo (1997-2000) and later, a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Management (2004-2007) from Lagos State Polytechnic, Isolo Campus. He later went on to study music at University of Lagos, Akoka, where he bagged his B.A (2008), M.A (2010), and Ph.D. (2016) in Music Theory & Composition respectively. Dr Chinedum Osinigwe presently lectures at Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, and has several academic publications in reputable journals to his credit. He equally has several musical compositions especially of choral works that have been performed within and outside the shores of Nigeria.

Dr. Chinedum Osinigwe started his music career as a choir boy at All Saints Anglican Church, Surulere Lagos in the early eighties. After developing his skills in music through self-effort he became organist/ choirmaster to several Anglican churches within the Lagos metropolis. Presently he is an organist at Archbishop Vining Memorial Church Cathedral, G.R.A. Ikeja, and also an active member of Lagos City Choral – a choral group which has toured round the globe participating in world choir games and also won several medals for their efforts. He also consults and directs choirs from other Christian denominations such as the Protestant church, Ikeja, COCIN & NCCN (Lagos Chapter), Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG), Global Impact Church, Lagos, etc. 

Dr. Chinedum Osinigwe is happily married to Ugochi Osinigwe and are blessed with wonderful children.


Tope Olagunju

Tope Olagunju is a Nigerian organist, music arranger, conductor and music scholar. He stands out among his contemoraries to be one of the best Organists in Nigeria. Tope has served as Organist and Choirmaster in various Churches such as St. Anne’s Anglican Church, Ibadan, Anglican Church of the Ascension, Akobo, Ibadan and many more.

Tope is currently the Organist at All Saint’s Anglican Church, Yaba. He also served as the University Organist for five years at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology( LAUTECH), Oyo State, where he studied Pure and Applied Physics. He arranged the new school anthem for this University in 2014.

His quest for music has led him to further his education in music. In 2018, he passed his Muson Organ performance exam (Grade 8) with a distinction. He was awarded a scholarship by MTN to study music in the MUSON diploma school of music. Tope has been trained by the likes of Dotun Olayemi, Ayo Oluranti, Pa. Kayode Oni, Abiodun Ojo, Segun Ajibade and many more.

 Oludaisi David Aina A multi-functional composer, teacher, organist, choral director and actor. He’s a piano and voice instructor as well as the Director of the Lagos State University CHOIR.


Seun Owoaje

— Profile

Seun Owoaje is a pianist/composer by profession, and former lecturer in music at Obafemi Awolowo University (O.A.U) Ife. He is currently an adjunct lecturer at the Mountain Top University, and Mountain Top Conservatory. ‘Seun holds B.A. Music, O.A.U, M.A. Music, University of Lagos and is currently working on a PhD at the University of Lagos. He presently runs Centre Techniques Limited, a music consultancy firm in Lagos. Writer of several standard instrumental, vocal, and orchestral works which have been severally performed here in Nigeria and abroad. Seun has served in various other capacities as music and productions consultant for organisations and events.


Sarah Adeoti,

My name is Sarah Adeoti, I was born on the 10 of Nov,i am a soprano singer,i do mostly classical and contemporary songs,i started my music career professioally 10 year ago,i had passion for music at a very tender age and i joined the children choir at Christ apostolic church(CAC)i was there for years till i became an adult and moved to the church choir under the control of Elder Bidemi Adekunle Oyesanya (SAN)Elder Bidemi has been a mentor and a father to me,i respect his music works alot,i have written songs,and have worked with some music gurus like Ben of project fame,Ayo Ajayi and the likes,i have worked with some choral group like the Royql school of church music,voices & chords,and so on,music and has been and will always be a part of me.


Titilope Esther David

Titilope Esther David  is Soprano singer. She started her musical journey at the MUSON  Basic School  in 2014 and in 2016 she was  admitted into the Muson Diploma School of Music as a Voice Major, under the tutelage of Princess Banke Ademola. She’s currently studying Music at the University of Lagos Nigeria.
Titi enjoys singing classical music, art music and contemporary music and she hopes to reach out to the world with her gift.
